Following a rigorous tender process for a Resource Management System (BMK2017-030), Buckinghamshire & Milton Keynes Fire Authority (BMKFA) has chosen FireServiceRota as their preferred supplier.
Looking to achieve efficiencies, BMKFA offered a contract for a Resource Management System (RMS) that would allow the fire service to deliver efficiencies through more flexible crewing models.
BMKFA serves a population of more than 800,000 people and employs over 400 firefighters distributed in 20 fire stations. BMKFA’s most important selection criteria were the support of flexible staffing models, and the ability to easily achieve optimum crewing levels: the Authority plans to have exactly the number of employees on duty that are needed to mobilise its fire appliances.
FireServiceRota has over 10 years of experience providing a flexible cloud-based Resource Management System for retained and wholetime fire stations in The Netherlands, Denmark and the United Kingdom.
FireServiceRota streamlines extra-shift requests and shift exchange processes and continuously monitors that the optimum crewing levels are maintained at all times and across all locations. It is accessible through any device with an internet connection and it provides support to firefighters and managers before, during and after incidents.
Through an Agile Methodology, FireServiceRota ensures that the software is tailored to the customer’s needs. The Agile way consists of a series of two-week sprints of flexible, adaptive planning, continuous testing and improvement, and early delivery of new features. The Agile Methodology proposed was key to earn the contract from BMKFA, along with FireServiceRota’s flexibility and features to ensure optimum crewing levelsIn clarifying their decision to choose FireServiceRota over 6 other suppliers, Julian Parsons, Head of Service Development wrote:
“Your response was of a very good quality, your presentation and submitted costs were strong, along with your intended delivery method which was extremely pleasing to the evaluation team.”
Buckinghamshire & Milton Keynes Fire Authority will join Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service and Jersey FRS as FireServiceRota’s first customers in the United Kingdom.
